Where is Chloride?

Chloride is located in the northwest corner of Arizona, 4 miles east of US Highway 93's mile marker 53 on Chloride Road (County road 125) which is 53 miles south of the Boulder (Hoover) Dam and approximately 80 miles from the Las Vegas city limits. Traveling from the south, Chloride is approximately 18 miles north of Kingman AZ and I-40.

There are two good indicators a visitor is close to Chloride. One is the large Chloride sign posted by the intersection of Chloride Road and US Highway 93. The other is Grasshopper Junction. Chloride Road dead-ends into US Highway 93 and Grasshopper Junction is directly across the highway.

CAUTION: Once you leave US Highway 93, it is open range territory. Range cattle meander about and on Chloride Road and they have the right-of-way. Staying in your automobile is the recommended way to take pictures of these large beautiful beasts. Taking close up pictures and attempting to pet or feed them is highly discouraged. Honking at the red bull while he slowly crosses the road is also highly discouraged.

From Las Vegas:
A visitor coming from Las Vegas would travel along US Highway 93. Cross over the Boulder (Hoover) Dam and continue to the Chloride turnoff 3/4 of a mile past mile marker 52. Turn left onto Chloride Road (County road 125) and travel the slightly winding road 4 miles into downtown Chloride. Travel time from the Las Vegas area is about one and a half hours.

From Phoenix:
A visitor coming from the Phoenix area would take US RT 60 into Wickenburg and turn right onto US Highway 93. Travel US Highway 93 to I-40 West. Take I-40 West to exit 48 (Beale St/US Highway 93 North). Turn right onto US Highway 93 and continue about 18 miles to the Chloride Road (County Road 125) turnoff. Turn right and go 4 miles further.
